Community Support for Local Swimmers

The Smoky Mountain Aquatic Club (SMAC) seeks sponsors to support our 2024-2025 swim program! SMAC is open to all the youth of Haywood County. We anticipate at least 75-100 children, ages 5-18, participating in our swim program this season. SMAC is currently divided into four levels of swimming proficiency: Stroke School (learning the four strokes), Bronze (building on the basics and learning to compete at meets), Silver (getting faster and stronger, building an aerobic base and mental toughness in the pool), and Gold/Gold Elite (advanced athletes competing at state and regional level).

SMAC’s Mission

There are many benefits to swimming, which we have summarized in our Mission and Objectives page. From the perspective of a Sponsor we strive to:

1. Teach children how to swim in a safe and affirming environment.

2. Motivate children to love swimming by providing a “put you at ease” atmosphere of positive energy where a child’s confidence grows as their technical skill improves.

3. Provide a USA Swim Team for those wanting to swim competitively. SMAC swim team members will learn the deep satisfaction that comes through increased commitment, learning a method of swim training that leads to skill mastery, and developing the personal character forged through hard work, discipline, perseverance, and teamwork.

It is also an excellent venue to promote your business to hundreds of families in the Haywood County area who utilize the Waynesville Recreation Center’s Aquatics area. As a Swim Team Sponsor, your company will receive recognition for the level of your support. Recognition such as:

• Visibility of your company’s logo and link to your company’s website on our team webpage.

• Visibility of your company’s name or logo displayed at the Waynesville Recreation Center pool during practices and swim meets.

• Visibility of your company’s logo or name printed on our season swim team shirts.
  Public recognition of your company’s sponsorship at all home meets.

What Would Your Generous Donation be Used for?

Your money would be used to:

1. Assist SMAC, a non-profit organization, to pay the salaries of professional USA Swimming certified coaches.

2. Help cover the expenses connected with our swim program – expenses such as facility rental, swimming equipment, insurance, etc.

3. Provide scholarships for Haywood County families needing financial assistance in order to participate in our programs.
